This birth-day is almost over, and it has been pretty good to me. It's alost time to wind the clocks back up for another 365 day stretch. It seems like such a long time looking ahead, and I'm sure that next year on April 11, I'll be looking back on this upcoming year thinking it was just a charade.
But some exciting things are happening. I'm going to be able to manifest my own transportation through the automobile, assuming I pass my driving test forthcoming on the 22nd. But assuming may be overconfident in this situation...
This past year has been, well, satisfactory. I went to Vermont, got my restricted, kissed a fair amount of girls, and cut my hair. But fifteen felt like a very restricting age, and no one really took me too seriously. Not that they neccasarily will at age sixteen either. But even years are always better to me than odd years.
They tell me sixteen will be a good year. I've also heard its the most overglorified age ever. Think of how many movies and songs have been written about being sixteen, or about someone who is sixteen. In case you need some help, here is some:
"Well she was just (EDIT--the lyrics are SEVENTEEN) if you know what I mean, and the way she looked was way beyong her years"
--Beatles, I Saw Her Standing There
"*Sixteen* Candles"
"You're *sixteen*, you're beautiful, and you're mine"
--Ringo Starr
There's probably countless others. Plus, in movies colelge guys are always talking about sixteen year olds. I guess most of the references are to girls though. Oh well.
Shit, there goes the planet.
