boy in the striped pajamas
this movie is by far, one of my most favorite movies. set during the time of the holocaust, the story follows the life of a young german named Bruno who befriends a captivated jew (Schmuel) in a nearby concentration camp. This movie is different from all the other holocaust films i've seen for instead of mainly focusing on the cruelities and inhumanities of the Nazi regime, this film goes further in depth into portraying the dimming innocence, ignorance, and naivety of germans and jews alike. It's bittersweet and deeply moving. & might I add, heart stabbingly tragic. The two young boy's performance in this movie was just O_O, you couldn't believe they were only primary schoolers. As quoted "it was like a battle between the eyes of them two. you'd get lost in them."
I haven't read the book from which this film is adapted. But i will make sure to go buy it or something. I recommend BITSP to everyone and anyone. Especially if you're a bawler like me.
