Down with the artness.

Starting out with the cuteness...Jen.

But seriously. Spinifex was dreaming last night, and doing something he doesn't normally do, namely squeak. He's really only squeaked when he's extremely angry; so it's happened like twice before. This time, though, he was asleep. It was almost like he was snoring. Plus his little paw was twitching. It was very cute. Despite his dead eye.

I learned screen printing over the weekend. Much ink was spread. I kept fucking up my things, though. The first emulsion-ing sucked. The second time it was okay, but inevitably the screen got fucked up: double-exposed, over-exposed, too wet. The next screen seems to have turned out okay, though. When I printed the base color, though, I pulled too much ink through and it spread in an undesirable manner. The second layer seemed to turn out fine, though. The second time through with the second layer was not great, though, and I'm not sure if the ink already dried or what.

So, lots of fuck-ups. Now my apartment is a complete mess and it's kinda bugging me.

I also inked another panel of my comic. I should probably letter page 6 this week.

I also watched They Live. Most people who are versed in cult thrillers will have already seen this, but basically, it's a low budget shoot-em-up starring Rowdy Roddy Piper (who, in my youth, I called Roddy Roddy Piper). The political message is transparent, but it was enough to inspire the ubiquitous Shepard Fairey into action. It has just enough action and absurdity to validate its cult status, and it has the longest fist fight scene ever. I'll give it three coffee mugs to the head out of five.

Also, I finally saw 28 Days Later to completion, though admittedly, I was inking through part of its duration, and therefore was not concentrating on the TV. Nevertheless, the movie gets pretty good at the end, and Godspeed You, Black Emperor provides an excellent soundtrack. I'll give it five soldier bastards out of five.
