Finished watching Sungkyunkwan Scandal...

...and it is one of the most glorious things I have ever laid my eyes on since Coffee Prince.

But simultaneously, I fucking hate what this show does to me. D;

If I get into JYJ because of Yoochun (oh, what your dorky 1700-era hairstyle does to my heart), I might have to do some reevaluation.

I really, really, really don't want to involve myself into KPOP. There are many reasons, all of which are valid and good points (to me), but none of which I will share with you.

...But I digress.

I'm actually really sad the show's over! It's been such an amazing journey and I loved every bit of it, although I did have some qualms.

I mean, the plot could've been more fleshed out, there were some loose ends, a couple plot holes you could've played Whack-A-Mole with... And certain developments that could've been taken further: there was so much potential in many of the side characters that will never be fully explored and that...that is depressing.

I'm so lovely, I can wear a bun on my head and still look lovely.
Though after watching Da Jang Geum, my standards for political, historical, and power-nomnom dramas has reached an all high. Nothing will ever compare. Ever. So maybe my viewpoint is slightly whacked.

However, as a character drama, I would say that SkkS one-ups Coffee Prince. And that is high praise from me, indeed. If you were to compare it with something else, it would be like getting an 6/10 from me for a Neopets name choice: (/winkwinknudgenudge)

"...."
"....."
"Did you just come out to me?"
"Yes. I'm sorry to tell you that I'm...I'm straight."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO x 1000"

In the end, I give SkkS a 7.5/10 (It's a high score! Really!). Despite its imperfections, it has been one of the most endearing and worthy-of-my-time dramas that I've watched, and not a second is wasted or used for fillers (just fanservice). The flaws mentioned are nothing compared to the whole picture, a painting so wonderful it makes my heart squee and dance around in a tea cozy every time I see its vibrant colors.

He has such a gigantic stick up his ass in this drama, I don't even--LOL
It has so much replay value, just like Ocarina of Time and TWEWY (♥). All the fantastic fanservice and appetizing angst and lustful love and splendid slashing and illicit innuendos and awesome alliteration and the colorful cast! How will I ever part from Geol Oh and Lee Seon-Joon and Gu Yong-Ha and Kim Yoon-Hee? They're all so lovable in their own right!

(Also, "Cute Soron Leader" who is so very slashable with pretty much everyone in the show)

"RAPE FIREEEE!"
And OMG Park Min-Yeong looks so pretty as a girl AND a boy (a passable boy, too). How the hell does she do that? /jealous/

She has to be a bishounen (/irony)! How else can she be such a brand of 'pretty' that transcends genders?!

Ack, she's so adorable. ><

Recaps!
Hilarious recaps. <3 Love the person who did these.

Anyway, ERICOW, I KNOW YOU'LL LOVE THIS DRAMA. IF NOT FOR MICKY, THEN DEFINITELY FOR GU YONG-HA. You guys share the same wavelengths! He's like Joshua, except less creepy! He even carries a FAN! He cannot be fabulous without his fabulous fan, you see. And he has to be fabulous. He is THE Gu Yong-Ha, after all.

So if you're still interested, here is a trailer for your benefit:

Yeah. I'm just going to leave it at that. I still need to watch Miss Ripley! More Yoochun. <3
