Listen, kid, we're all in this together.

Yglesias:

An America prepared to casually toss out the most fundamental principles of international humanitarian diplomacy -- along with basic human decency and the rule of law as side helpings -- is not a country others are going to want to cooperate with. It will constitute a threat to their own interests and values. Nor will it be a country blessed with a lot of accurate intelligence. As Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky has pointed out, an intelligence service shot-through with demands that it torture people "degenerates into a playground for sadists," the service itself "an army of butchers" skilled at terrorizing its victims but hardly capable of unraveling complicated investigations.

It's a grim future brought to us by grim and deranged men -- by people who seem to have developed an unhealthy level of admiration for America's enemies. (They want the country they run to transform itself into a facsimile of its evil adversaries.) It's a future in which it may become increasingly hard for decent citizens of this country to say truthfully that they're proud to be Americans.

I want you all to go and rent three movies, can you do that? I know for most of you reading in certain spots that you have already seen these movies, but some may have not. The movies are 1984, Brazil, and V for Vendetta. Why do I want you to go out and rent these movies, well for you own good for what to expect in the coming years. Each story was originally written over twenty years ago.

1984 was a novel written by George Orwell in 1949. Brazil was made in 1985 by Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame, but the writing began back in the mid 70s. V for Vendetta is a graphic novel/comic book written by Alan Moore that ran from 1982-1988. Now Brazil and V for Vendetta go to 1984 for a great deal of inspiration, but they all show us the terrible future that we all very well may be headed for if we do not reduce the power of the current party in control. In these stories they may be set in a seemingly post-apocalyptic world, but sometimes all you need is one event to take control.

Back to the quote above, I think the point Yglesias is trying to make at one instance that if you torture someone long enough you can have them admit to the assassination of JFK, when they weren’t even born. His point that these “grim men” want to run America as the Taliban or Iran run their countries are very valid. What is the difference, if any, between what the neo-cons have us become and say the Taliban other then Christianity and Islam?

The Bush administration has blocked release of a report that suggests global warming is contributing to the frequency and strength of hurricanes, the journal Nature reported Tuesday.

The possibility that warming conditions may cause storms to become stronger has generated debate among climate and weather experts, particularly in the wake of the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

In the new case, Nature said weather experts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - part of the Commerce Department - in February set up a seven-member panel to prepare a consensus report on the views of agency scientists about global warming and hurricanes.

Global Warming, something the oil bathing sons of bitches in power, don’t want you to believe is true. It is just some far-left agenda to make us all a bunch of tree huggers to make us drive Hybrids, electrical and solar-powered cars. Sure it is and the recent report that the Earth is may be at its warmest point in a million years. Don’t let those left-winged scientists tell you some fallacy, they have an agenda; just like those activist judges who decided things based on law and the constitution instead of what is told in the bible.

Hell, if I were these people I would be thrilled with this news of the Earth being very hot. It means we could just be gearing up for the seas to boil, accompanied by the Moon being Red as blood, the stars falling, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria. Course I would love to see the look on their faces when the 200,000 real Christians were taken to Heaven and they were left here with their almighty and holy beliefs.

"America's nobility, and so the battle rages on…fanatics who genuinely believe America is a wicked country that must be reformed in any way possible short of violence"

Yes ladies and gentlemen that would be an exert from Bill O’Reily’s new book, Culture Warrior, a book that allegedly spouts fact and superior analysis; or as I like to call it opinion, lies and hypocrisy. In the book anyone who has ever taken a shot at Billy boy is attempted to be taken to task, I say attempted because does anyone really believe the “traditionalist” could take anyone to task? He could take a deaf mute to task about not being able to talk or hear.

I would love to sit across from Bill O’Reilly, to look into those beady eyes of his, to that smug face and just slap the shit out of him. They say violence doesn’t solve anything, I say that’s not always true. Bill O’Reily talks like a man who has never had his ass kicked and it is far time that someone sends him to dreamland courtesy of the pain-train.
