The Meiji Era.

This weekend was pretty lame. I managed to puncture the front tire of the Scion on Thursday turning into Jack-in-the-Box. Since I don't have a spare, I had to get it towed to down to a shop Friday morning to get it replaced. Then on my way back to Norwalk on Friday with David and Anish, one of the rear tires blew out on the 405 so I had to get it towed again. At least we're all safe. The swerving on the freeway was kept to a minimal and I didn't slam into the barricade or another car. Blah. Car problems suck.

The cost of the two replacements didn't stop me from buying a wheelset for my bike though. I saved about $100 on a sweet deal off of craigslist. With this purchase, there's not too much I want to do. I'll buy new pedals/straps eventually, but I'll get those a bit later. So far, my plans for another bike are coming along. To be honest, I have enough spare parts to pretty much build it once I'll get it, but I'm waiting on a decent frameset to put it on. A vintage Schwinn or a lugged Peugot frame is what I'm really hoping to find. I'll probably be able to keep it all under $100, which really isn't much considering the ridiculous amount of money I've dropped on my Fuji.

In other news, I saw Ms. Loayza over the weekend. I was eating at Woody's Diner on Main in Seal Beach with Chris and my uncle after a bike ride and my brother pointed her out saying that she looked familiar. It actually took me a while to figure out who she was because she had long hair and was pregnant. I didn't say anything to her though. She probably didn't even recognize me anyway.

Blah. I should really start working on my paper.
