DEAD NEW YEAR NEEDS YOU!
Bassist
Style: Must be able to play rock, punk, metal, etc. but have your own style.
Ability to write basslines quickly is ideal. Good timing is a must.
Keyboardist
Style: Must have at least a little skill with piano, synth and organ.
Ability to write interesting keyboard parts and play the ones already written is a must.
Drummer
Style: Punk, Rock 'n' Roll, Metal, etc. MUST BE A HUMAN METRONOME. You've got to be, "ON," as they say, because it's all about the drums with us! We don't care if you sound exactly like what we've been doing, but just make sure you can at least keep time.
For all positions, we ask that applicants do the following:
- When you set up the tryout, actually show the fuck up.
- Have the drive and desire to succeed in this business.
- Be able to tour with us. We're not a party band. We want to gig all over the place.
- Be more concerned with making a splash than making a lot of money. We WON'T make a lot of money.
- Own some fucking equipment. We ain't rich enough to supply it for you.
We're a band with two lead singers/guitarists, and we're pretty protective over what direction Dead New Year goes in, but we're definitely open to suggestion, and we don't mind other people bringing new songs in, so long as they fit with what we're doing. We don't care about being radio or MTV's next big thing, and that's not our goal. If you're about making money over making music, take a fucking walk. We want to live off this, but we also know that we don't NEED very much to live.
