- I really really need to finish this geoengineering paper. Its dang hard to go back to something that you put aside for so long. I understand all of the grad students suffering with untreated ABD who will never graduate, it is a major pain in the ass. I have a lot of it done but the problem is still proving the negative "there are no laws against geoengineering."
- I chose Villatree and gave them a check yesterday. The online reviews tilt negative of course but they do for everyone. In the end this place has trees and shade which means more roaches and tarantulas. The other hip place had pools which meant louder students. In the end there's only one choice for a guy like me but the allure of the other kids was strong. One disappointment was the rent was 30$ a month higher than what was told to me last week. They have a computer that tells them what the rent is. I should have haggled but did not.
Now I will live further away from the school in an older shady place. Hopefully I won't be grumbling about noise, smoke, and dogs that live on the patio. Speaking of which, Bruno has still been left outside during the Phoenix June day, only this time with food and water. I guess I will compromise and go the apt manager if I see him again.
- I got a D in Professional Responsibility, more on that later, but it looks like nothing can be done. that means no clerkship really and probably no job offer where I am competing against anyone.
- I have still not started externing at the City of Phoenix. I called them Monday, from the Bally's poker room naturally, and received the same "Yes we have no idea why you're background check is taking so long, we left the company a voicemail that they have not yet replied to and will keep you posted." Oh well, I guess a year from now I will be grateful for someone that returns calls, and 2 years from now I will yearn for free days.
