Is It the Protest Season in the Middle East?
This great Az weather makes it an ideal time for rallies and protests. I don't know the history of this desert but I suspect major political rallies are unknown from April to November.
So I suspect the same thing is occuring in the Middle East; Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Lebanon being Lebanon, and did I miss one? The weather must be ripe for rioting.
Climate aside, perhaps we are finally seeing the ripples of a representative government in Iraq. Word starts to spread around about a bad Prime Minister being replaced in 2007 with an effective one and locals start to wonder "Why can't that happen here?"
Imagine if we could collapse the price of oil and make the authorities go low on cash right now. Saudi Arabia, better think about locking up the Palaces. Iran might need a few more underground hiding places.
