So now that I see that the Jews are uprising still. I see.

Alas my secret jewess your views are not shared by me. Obviously if you and your husband had been of the Truth Faith he may not have died. God takes the ones that you love the most at his own whim. It is if you follow the true faith that determines if you go to heaven to see god or el ( Read more... )

I am of the People, and not here to care for them in any other capacity than that of fellow citizen. The Republic, being the only sure way we can secure the happiness and well-being of that People of which I am a part, is worth all our concern. Without the Republic the people are miserable and enslaved, as they were under your reign and those of all tyrants. There is no shame and much honor in placing the Republic before all else, since men only have dignity and liberty under Republican government.

How is it that I care for no one but myself? I who care for nothing if not the fate of the poor and unfortunate. I who would see them magnanimous, puissant, and joyful, not so I can receive a reward, but for their own sakes. Since I am one of the People and have never sought to place myself above them, I suppose you would say it is selfish to care for them. I do not. I have respect for myself and my fellow citizens and it is thus that I wanted us all to live in freedom, equality, and fraternity. If we perform our duty toward ourselves and our fellow man, we will be truly virtuous, and thus, I can’t imagine that our French souls would come to any harm….Although I don’t have the arrogance to claim to speak for the Supreme Being.

My fiancé killed no one. Those few whose executions he reluctantly approved were traitors to the Republic and to all humanity. He did his duty, though it was not always easy. To answer your question: in comparison with so virtuous a citizen of the Republic, a tyrant like yourself is always at fault.

Indeed. Though people who realize this are rarer than you might believe...

That's wonderful that you are of the people. I was divinely put as Queen. What other explanation is there of my crown? None. If you are so much of the people, you and you do not care for the souls then what is there? And what of your Republican government? It was right after the French Revolution yes? What comes after that? The military dictatorship of Napoleon. How long did you perfect little republic last then?! Obviously not so perfect now was it?

not so I can receive a reward, but for their own sakes.
Tell me, what reward do I receive? Because if I do I would like to claim it. If I just told you it was selfish not to care for them, then why would I say it is selfish to care for them. Your logic goes around in cirles and does not come to clear point. Come back to me when you make a convincing arguement because there is no reason for me to waste the time that I have here with you. And I do not claim to speak for God. There is a pope for such matters.

Do not try and act as though your husband killed no one! You would rather act as though mass murders were not killed in his name than actually answer to what you must. I'll say it again, I had my inquistion, he just killed people. A large amount of people. Are you like a child who cannot answer to their faults?

Would you like the short explanation or the long one? I'll give you the short and if it does not prove satisfactory I'll take the historical angle. You are a usurper of the sovereign rights of the People: that is how you obtained your crown.

What comes after that? The military dictatorship of Napoleon.
I hardly see how I can be blamed for the actions of my enemies.

Your reward? Is it not a tenet of your religion that those who follow it receive some sort of heavenly reward, and those that don't will be tortured for all eternity?

I do not claim to speak for God. There is a pope for such matters.
Well, I'm sure you'll be pleased to know, in that case, that your latest pope made public apology for your Inquisition.

I would have thought you would be above reading propaganda put about by the incidentally atheistic massacreurs who slandered my fiancé. But then I suppose you are in the habit of believing anyone who does not share your "true faith" would stop at nothing in any case.
I have nothing more to add; the truth speaks for itself.
