God help us, a full year.

It has come to my attention that this august community is nearing its first anniversity; a mysteriously backdated post aside, the first entry was on the 22nd of February, 2005.

The question arises: what ought to be done to celebrate it? Wine? Song? Hookers?

My, has it been a year? Clearly, we must have a tea party. Perhaps Marie can host it in her gardens, or some such place.

Do you mean a tea party or a tea party, madame?

Perhaps a ball and some good old-fashioned oppression?

What, with Gulags to Commemorate the Occasion?

I was thinking of beating Bakunin. For the good of Russia.

If you come to the ball, please bring your wife. She's such a lovely lady.

For the good of Russia, hmm? Nah. I only consent to being beaten by the Marquis. or that annoying but damned hot little French poet-cum-arms dealer if he's still about

You, Romanov, can go to hell. Or anywhere that's not here. No one appreciates you attempting to insult Pushkin.

(In hindsight, Pushkin, do you agree with my friend Herzen who suggested that in a more primitive society, you'd hand out cigars to all your friends because you're so glad to be rid of her? Or do you still love her the way he'll always love his wayward Natalia?)

Tea, of course! As the youth of America today often put it "like, DUUU-UH!"

Strange, those youths...

Exactly what I was thinking, El. (Can I call you El?) Except I spent enough time around West Coast surf culture that I don't think it's strange at all.

I've been called stranger things.

I feel that we are kindred spirits, you and I. We both have names starting with "El", and we think alike.

The question is, would I actually respond at this point if someone called me Ellen? I've been Cass for so long.... But I am incredibly flattered. Thank you.

Tea, yes. And hookers. And make sure that the Marquis is around.

Ooooh a celebration would be lovely, darling! Yeah. Try that while I'm around, and you'll be sorry.

I thought it might be, my sweet <3 But Eliza! You're going to severely hamper my social life!

Count me in then, my love <3 It is possible to have an active social life without ladies of the night. But if really can't give it up, wait until my back is turned, much like you did with that other woman...
