umm. i did something bad tonight.

i watched the swan.

the whole thing.

...i'm not proud of myself, but i just couldn't turn the channel.

the swan is a tv show on fox where they take "ordinary" women and for three months they can't see themselves in a mirror and they're in seclusion and they do radical plastic surgery including the whole face, body, boobs, new teeth, etc. AND they work out hardcore...and THEN at the end of three months there's a beauty pageant where one "ugly duckling" is crowned the swan.

it's totally fucked up.

and i couldn't turn it off.

i almost watched it after the results american idol show but jolene changed the channel and saved my soul.

aaron was at the mariner's game and i just got hooked...with no accountability to anyone for my horrible viewing choices, it's clear that all my ideals and convictions fly right out the window when faced with extreme beauty pageants.

yeah. only after the extreme makeover only one of them is good enough to go to the swan pageant. so every week two "average women" go "head to head" in the "most extreme competition" on television to see which one will transform enough to be crowned "the swan."

i hate myself.

'cause first i watched the swan...and now i kinda secretly deep down want to BE the swan.

what a world (cries into a glass of chardonay :)
