Chapter Twenty-Three -- Malfoy Manor

In which Harry suffers a frontal lobe migraine for most of the chapter, the Random Death Eaters show common sense, Rowling completely ignores her own set-up for a character arc, all the wizards forget that they're wizards and Dobby is a deus ex machina.

Chapter Twenty-Three -- Malfoy Manor

Also, Fenrir is creepily stalkerish, and everyone gets CAPSLOCKY. )

I know. No one over the age of thirteen and no one not writing on FFnet should be writing about orbs. Especially not orbs sprinkled with starlight. GOD.

By a few chapters into DH (at Sectus), I was wondering which fanfic stories JKR had pinched the whole thing from. I actually identified several myself, and other people pointed out there were more, too - ones I hadn't read.

Which stories did you identify, out of curiosity?

Ooh. Let me think. *g* Well, there was resonant8's Transfigurations (in at least two places - I have notes for the ruins at Godric's Hollow and Harry carving Dobby's gravestone, also for Snape being dead eventually, so to speak) and also a minor tangential reference to Snape/Neville via Julad's Night-Blooming Heartsease; amanuensis1's And Just Plain Wrong (Snape as Headmaster, DEs as teachers); busaikko's 10 Aprils (all the camping!!!); Neville's gran rang very strong bells too, for A.J.Hall's Lust over Pendle stories - if she'd turned out to be a bat Animagus I would have been certain of it! And when I mentioned it in one of the discussion, several other people had spotted other parallels, but I'm afraid I didn't take notes of which they were.

*gasp* *pant*
