merry christmas

Lassiter is honestly surprised when he arrives home late one December evening and a familiar motorcycle is blocking his driveway. He hadn't heard a word from Spencer since he'd left with autumn's beginning. As is apparently his habit, Spencer had locked up his apartment and office, stuffed a backpack with too-few changes of clothes and his ( Read more... )

So many adorable 'awww....." moments in this. I love it!

Their "I love you" scene was simply heartwarming-I can see Lassy having trouble saying those three little words to Shawn, even though he totally feels it. And you portrayed the asking-your-sweetie-to-move-in jitters perfectly!

Merry Xmas!

Lassiter's depth of emotion is pretty amazing, I think, but I do think that he has an incredibly hard time expressing that. Plus, his awkwardness - so much more fun (and in-character) than a smooth invitation. I was really, really in the mood for adorable/heartwarming/sweet, so I'm thrilled you liked it, too! Have a great Boxing Day and New Year and Season.

*squishes* This is the bestest kind of schmoop of the season! (Yes, that's a compliment. What, I had to do better than 'adorable' and 'awwww', as that can get a bit repetitive. ;-) )

(grin) Sometimes schmoop is the only thing that fits, you know? I'm so pleased you like it! That's like a Christmas present all by itself!

LIZ! You absolutely SLAY me with your ridiculously amazing writing. Honestly, this was utterly fantastic. I've snatched a few quotes that I love, here...

It isn't that warmth and life are bad things, he reminds himself - only that he's so unused to them. Which is, he reflects, a fairly pathetic thought.

I love that he reflects like this. It feels very Lassiterish to me.

He carries the box to the little dining table while Lassiter goes into the kitchen to fetch a beer for himself and a Fanta for Spencer.

Shawn totally drinks Fanta, and I loved that you included such a wonderful detail.

"The 'Caribbean Queen' artiste, Lassie," Spencer corrects.

I can hear it, I can see it. Perfect characterization.

It's perfect, as always, because Spencer is as amazing at this as he is at everything else.

I'm channeling my best Gus impression: I hear that!

"I didn't think you were ever gonna wake up," murmurs Shawn, voice gone quiet and scratchy, as it always does after one of his orgasms.

Guhhhh what a glorious image right there.

Man, I feel lucky if just one quote gets pulled out - but hot damn, Nikki! I'm so pleased you liked all of those, and the fic in general, and the whole idea. You actually reminded me of the importance of names in a comment for... Third Law, I think, and though I had included it in a fic before I thought it was appropriate to recycle the idea of name separation here. The "I love you" thing was one of two ideas behind the fic (along with Lassiter's ridiculous invite), so I'm so happy you liked it.

And I'm just happy in general, because I got another one of your fabulous, super-long comments. They're phenomenally awesome, seriously - I know I keep saying it, but comments are really the only reason to share writing. So your comment was like a gorgeous, lovingly wrapped present with an enormous silver bow.

Merry Christmas!

Yeah, hon... That was my comment on Third Law :D That's why I brought it up in this comment!

I'm glad you liked my lame comment-y gift, and I hope you give us all a New Year's present that I can then respond to with one of my own.

That wasn't remotely subtle, and I apologize.

Wow, I don't ever remember a time where I read one of your fics for the first time online. Well, most of a fic. It seems weird. But nice because it was good.

I love Gus. Really. He stood up to an armed Lassie to make sure Shawn wouldn't get hurt. That is so adorable and I'm glad you decided on having him help move Shawn in. <3 ( ... )

I guess there's a first time for everything. One day I'm going to write something without begging for your approval first - and what a day that shall be! (I wouldn't hold my breath, but still.) And you're continually awesome, my Kelly, because (like James Roday with Steve Franks) you find my very favorite part in a story and pick it out for me. Gus was so much fun! I adore the idea of him being grossed out that Shawn and Lassiter are... 'you know' - but he's still Shawn's best friend, and he has to make sure that he won't get hurt ( ... )
