Sunday Evening, Anita's Apartment (12/3)

Mar 13, 2006 13:26

Worn out and worried, Anita tried not to pace around her apartment after calling Ten, tried to relax, curl up on the couch with a movie. It didn't work.

In another way she felt relieved, lighter than she had in years, ever since the ardeur, the vampire marks, all of it came into her life. Aziraphale binding it with the virtue of temperance had finally put both the ardeur and the munin under her control. Still, the fact that she had lost control of it the night before, how she'd come on to Aziraphale on the dance floor... It frustrated her, but it was over now. It wouldn't happen again. And she would be able to withstand Crowley, not be compelled by some metaphysical thing inside of her. But now that she had control, other things popped back up into her vision. Like Nathaniel leaving, and the things he had written...

The letter sat crumpled on the table beside the couch. She didn't want to throw it out, but at the same point... She looked up, noticing not for the first time that she'd thrown the vase hard enough to leave a dent in the wall. Great Anita, you're supposed to at least be able to control your own strength. You have no excuse for that, or so much of this.

Wrapped up in a blanket she went back to watching the movie, trying to keep herself distracted.
