Lots and lots and lots going on, as usual. but as i have a brief lull today, i'm goint to take advantage and break down my classes so far.
Astronomy 310: is awesome. and i have it with Milena!! which is great!!! it's totally fun and really interesting and i like the prof so far. i think it might be my favorite class so far.
Medieval Literature from the 14th-16th Centuries: this class is pretty ok. it's a lot of stuff i've already done before, like Petrarch and Shakespeare, and we're also covering some French writers, which i'll actually miss because i'll be in vegas, but that's ok with me. this class is kind of interesting. i don't really like the prof, she has a really thick french accent and asks for our opinions, it seems, just so she can tell us how wrong we are. she also has epilepsy, and warned us that she might lose focus or start speaking in other languages sometimes, but told us not to call an ambulance, as she's just fine.
Central and Northern European Literature: this class is actually really interesting. we're studying german, russian, baltic and swiss writers, which i've never done before, so that's pretty awesome. and my prof seems like a really intelligent, really dedicated guy, who's genuinely interested in the subject he's teaching, which is a nice change. my only problem is that it's early in the morning, so i have to wake up REALLY early to get there on time. i dozed off a little today, but i'm hoping that giving myself an earlier bedtime will solve that problem.
Earth and Ocean Science: The Earth and the Solar System: super interesting class, and i really like my eccentric prof. she's hilarious. but so far we've already had a complicated math equation to deal with, so i think this class will really be a challenge. yipes. still, if i stick to the readings and do all of the exercises i think i'll be alright. it's the one class i wish i had a tutorial for though. still, i think that taking this class and astronomy at the same time will be good, because i'll be able to learn different angles on the same thing at the same time. and more knowledge can only help me, right? :)
so all in all, i've got three out of four. the medieval class is the only one i'm kind of worried about in terms of interest level and the professor, but that's still pretty awesome, out of four classes.
other than that i've been up to the same old same old. planning for vegas, working as much as i can, all that fun stuff.
i'm actually house-sitting at the moment which is pretty fun. it's a lot closer to school for me, which is nice, although i wish i'd brought more clothing. ha. oh well. i'm going to stop by home on the weekend to do a swap, and bring everything i need for the upcoming week. i'm only staying until the 18th, because bryan and i leave for vegas on the 20th! whoo!
i'm getting really excited about the trip, and i just found out that one of the couples we're going with just got engaged, so that's going to make things more exciting! we're definitely going to have to celebrate. :) yay!
there's always bad news to go along with all of the good, but ya'll know me, i'm no debbie downer, and i like to keep those sorts of things to myself. if i'm not as good at keeping in touch, it's because there's a whole ton of things i'm trying to sort through, but i haven't forgotten you, fear not. sometimes you just have to take care of yourself before you can even begin to attempt taking care of anyone else. this is one of those times for lil' ol' me. but i think with a little more sleep and a vacation, i'll be in tip top shape in no time. it's a good thing i've got such spectacular pals hanging around to keep me occupied and upbeat. you guys are fantastic! YEAH!
in the meantime, i'm going to stay positive positive positive and keep on trucking! cause that's the stacey way. hi-yah!!! :)
i feel like an ace of base song.
