in which Nick watches Movies: The Wolfman
Things I Liked:
- It wasn't particularly crowded for an opening weekend.
- Emily Blunt's pretty.
- The sound design was stupendous - the creaks and groans of the wood, etc.
Things I Didn't Like:
- Pretty much the rest. It was stupid, draggy, and empty.
- It brought nothing new to the idea of werewolves, or to their story. Not that I'm particularly intrigued by either, mind, but still.
- Every male member of the family loved the same woman. Convenient?
- The wolf looks like fucking Teen Wolf. No, really.
Ah well. I suppose I should just be grateful that my girlfriend views this as a suitable Valentine's Day event, and not going to a chick flick like the poor bastards I saw waiting in a 100-person line for Valentine's Day over an hour before it was due to start.
