Dismantling My Atomic Schlong
So I've decided that I really like the new U2 album. Yes, I know its sepia tinted bluesy riffs and Joshua tree nods have all been heard before. And yes these guys are getting less and less relevant with each new record. For some reason though, I keep listening.
I think despite Bono's regressing lyrical ability and the rather cliche epic grandiose stadium rock scale of it all, I think seven on the tracks contain some good emotional content. Also the Eno and Lanois laden ballad "One Step Closer" is soothing and lovely without being as pretentious or far reaching as the rest.
So yeah, I guess they're not completely discountable just yet. See you in four years...
