HWAET! We gar denum...
Wait, no. This is not an Old English poem. My apologies. So, I didn't get into graduate school, but I wasn't surprised since I set unrealistic goals for myself, as usual (that is, I expected to gain proficiency in Russian and Modern Greek in under a year). But, more down time means that I have more time to plan more carefully and wisely about where I will study Comparative Literature. Right now, Columbia is looking good, but I need to look into other places as well.
In more positive news, I will be attending a literary seminar in St. Petersburg for three weeks. Expensive, yes; but I earned the money by enduring the incessant whining of middle school afterbirth mutants. So, from mid June to early July: dasvedania!
Also, since this week is April vacation, I will visit some friends in RI, chat with professors, and listen to the English Literature Colloquium. This week is Holy Week (leading up to Easter) for the Eastern Orthodox, so I'll be helping with food preparation, cleaning, etc. Other than that, I am also trying to improve my yard, continue substitute teaching (what am I going to do for work...), and attempt to harness the elan vital to serve my Weltanschauung in accordance with my kravghi. Anyways, laters.
