Avatar the last rainforest

We went to see Avatar last night.

Dundrum was packed out the gills, so much so we couldn't get parking and had to park someone else and walk back (I've never seen it that busy).

Another unfortunate side effect of the amount of people is that we could only get seats at the very front and extreme right of the cinema, which wasn't terribly pleasant and killed a lot of the 3D effects for me.

But yeah, the movie?

The visuals were stunning. Really really good. I like the world design and stuff as well. Not everything was very original, but it was all very pretty. This is a movie that if you're going to see it, it should be in a cinema. Ideally I imagine in an IMAX, if you have access to one (I don't).

Aside from the visuals?

It was Ferngully the Last Rainforest. I'd love to write more, but I can't think of anything else to say. Its the same plot and environmental message, most of the same characters, just a damnside more epic.

I really liked the antagonist. That was a man in absolute harmony with his asshole side, and very competent as the bad guy. Definitely cooler than a Tim Curry smog monster.

.... yeah I'm out of stuff to say about it......

It's not going to blow your mind, but it might blow your eyes.
