Title: Stupid Girl
Fandom: Veronica Mars
Characters: Lilly-centric, with a bit of Logan, Veronica, and Aaron thrown in.
Rating: R (language, sex, mature & dark themes)
Summary: Five snippets of Lilly Kane's life that progresses from just after she broke up with Logan for the last time up till her murder.
Notes: Spoilers for Season 1. (Lilly's killer, secret etc.) Kinda like a songfic that uses Garbage's 'Stupid Girl'. I felt it really fit Lilly's character and how she took a lot in her life for granted, only living for the moment - doing whatever pleased her. She loved to be loved and she always got what she wanted.

One --- "God, Logan! Stop calling me, I don't want to talk to you," Lilly yelled into her cell phone. She turned it off so he couldn't call her again and threw the offensive item into her purse. "He is so annoying. I don't know how I put up with him for so long," she sighed turning to Veronica.
"Lilly, maybe you should just let him explain. I mean, it's not like you're a complete angel either, right?" she said giving her a weak smile.
Lilly's jaw dropped and her eyes flared up in anger. "Excuse me?! Are you on his side now?" she asked in a shrill voice. "Was it not you who told me that he was making out with Yolanda? Huh?!" she demanded an explanation and glared at her friend. "And, what do you mean by 'I'm no angel either'?
Veronica tried to backtrack, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I just meant, you flirt a lot with other guys, and Logan's usually okay with it. And I know what he did with Yolanda was totally wrong, but maybe you should just give him another chance, because he really loves you."
The other girl huffed and walked off in the other direction of the mall. Veronica chased after her, trying to explain herself better. "Lilly, wait! Don't be mad at me. I'm not on his side. He's an ass and deserves what he gets," she blurted out. Her friend stopped in her tracks and turned back to her. She grinned widely and linked arms with her.
"You're so cute when you panic, you know that?" she laughed, apparently forgiving her the instant she had said what she wanted to hear. "What am I going to do with you, Veronica Mars?"

Two ---"Where are you, lover?" Lilly said in a sexy voice. She had skipped last period class and rushed over to the Echolls house. She lay back onto the couch and huffed. "I don't have all day!"
Aaron Echolls appeared from around the corner and gave her a broad grin. "Miss me?" he asked while lowering himself over her and giving her a quick kiss.
She rolled her eyes and pushed him away. "If you didn't take so long, we could have been fucking already."
He laughed and pulled her up with him. Leading her to the patio door, he went behind her and massaged her shoulders. "You're too tense, Lilly. How 'bout we go to the pool house this time? Get you to relax."
She pouted dramatically, but followed him anyway. She ran and jumped on the bed when they entered the pool house. He crawled over to her and kissed her hard. His hands tugged on her shorts and she raised her hips to let him pull them off completely. She pulled his shirt off and busied herself with his belt buckle.
"God, I love it when you're angry," he said laughing down at her. She smacked him hard across the face and wiggled out from under him. He looked at her shocked and slightly ticked off, holding his hand up to his reddened cheek.
Lilly simply batted her lashes at him asked in an irritated voice, "Did I say you could speak?" She flipped them over so she straddled his hips. He gave her a small smile, knowing she was just toying with him. She smiled devilishly down at him and ground her hips into his making him let out a low groan. She loved the power she had over people. It was almost too easy.

Three --- Logan hopped out of his SUV, grabbed his school bag and jogged up to the Neptune High entrance. He could see Lilly and Veronica sharing a juicy secret by their lockers, and giggling incessantly. He sauntered over to them and greeted them casually. Veronica shot him an encouraging smile, while Lilly pretended not to notice him.
"Lilly, can we talk?" he asked, gripping his shoulder straps and bowing his head to show his defeat. "If I could just explain, we could put this all behind us. Please, just... could we just talk?"
She turned to him after applying a fresh coat of lip-gloss. "I don't have anything to say to you, Logan. You know it's over so stop following me around like some lame, little puppy dog," she said in a condescending tone, "It makes you look really pathetic."
With that she grabbed her purse, shut her locker and walked off pulling Veronica with her. They hadn't taken five steps before Logan grabbed her arm and pulled her back to him. He closed the distance between them and kissed her softly. For an instant it looked like Lilly was going to melt into the kiss, but she suddenly broke the spell and pushed him away. She didn't say anything, but instead stood staring up at him.
"I love you, Lilly," Logan whispered and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. A small smile tugged at her lips but vanished just as quickly as it appeared.
"That's great, but I don't care," she stated bluntly. "Ugh, and you messed up my lip-gloss too," she complied and made her way to the girl's washroom to fix it.
Veronica was about to follow her, but put a hand on his arm as a token of sympathy. He pulled his arm away and stalked off towards his locker. She watched him open his locker slowly and stare blankly into it. His shoulders were hunched over and his head slightly bent down. She felt bad for him, but knew that Lilly would be waiting for her in the bathroom. She took one more glance at him and turned away.

Four --- The car wash was a total success and a row of cars lined the street waiting for their turn. The pep squad girls worked as fast as they could, soaping up the cars, washing them, and wiping them down. Lilly always loved the annual Neptune High car wash because the surfer boys would bring their jeeps and SUVs and flirt with her while she washed. Veronica grinned at her friend who was now chatting to a particularly gorgeous guy who had offered to help them. Lilly was such a flirt, and ‘accidentally’ sprayed herself with the hose, making her mainly white t-shirt completely see-through. Lilly laughed as Veronica threw a handful of suds at her. She retaliated by spraying the hose in the other girl's direction. Their shrieks grew louder until they were shot a death glare by the pep squad leader and they were reduced to soft giggles.
“God, Lily. I see the Prozac’s working,” Veronica joked as they wiped down the car.
Lilly grinned and replied, “High on life, Veronica Mars!” She leaned in closer to the other girl and said mysteriously, “I’ve got a secret - a good one.”
But before she could elaborate little miss bitch from before yelled at them again, “Girls! Less talk, more scrub!”
Lilly rolled her eyes and shot her friend a sly grin. “Later,” she told her. She couldn’t wait to tell Veronica her dirty little secret. The other girl pouted, but got back to work.

Five --- Lilly grabbed her suntan lotion and a magazine out to the pool. A wide grin spread across her face and she made no effort to hide her secret. She wasn't going to publicize the tapes, but screwing around with Aaron was always fun. She knew he'd never find them in a million years, and would have to suck up to her a lot to get her to give them back. He deserved it anyway, she told herself. It was one thing to film her while they had sex, she didn't mind the idea at all, but it was another thing altogether to film them without her knowing. Sick bastard, she thought and laughed.
And then suddenly there he was. Angry and swearing at her, yelling about how she was just a 17-year-old piece of ass. If he had let her, she'd have bitched him out, because she did not take shit like this, but it all ended so fast. She didn't understand why Aaron was acting all psychotic and reaching for the ashtray - a violent look in his eye.
As the ashtray made contact with her temple, images flashed before Lilly Kane's eyes. She could feel herself falling but all she could see were the faces of the one's she'd leave behind. Their voices echoed in her ears as she hit the ground with a deathly thud. Her blank eyes stared off into the distance, the light from them gone forever - never to shine again.
Logan's voice reverberated off the emptiness, "I love you, Lilly." As she took her last breath, she had a momentary instant of overwhelming regret, and then it was gone, just like that.
Just like her.
