Splash & Fun outside of San Gwann

Characters fall into three separate areas across a popular water park just east of a forbidden zone.

The first area characters may arrive is into an indoor standing pool enclosed by a caged glass pavilion. The pavilion is provided with a concessions stand, a pool-side bar, and an abandoned band set on stage.

[Black Bolt has made his way to the bathhouse by now, and stands just inside the doorway. It's a level of destruction that's not exactly new to him, but there's something... odd about the corpses of some of those humans. He studies them with a thoughtful frown, calm gaze sweeping the scene.]

OH MY GOD WHY AM I SUCH A FAILURE /SOB

[undiminishing]

[So. He'd suddenly been whipped up into a spontaneous hurricane just as he was about to read that letter in a bottle and fallen into darkness. Nothing new there. Somehow though he doubts that this is the Darkness darkness; it reeks something awful and the oppressive atmosphere was all kinds of different from the bleakness and... pure lack of existence that he'd fought. Here there was tons of stuff going on. Putrid smells and something not-quite-soft that he's lying on which in the dim light sorta looks like a

person.]

[Sora gasps, inhaling one great big lungful of horrible putridity before stumbling backwards and hitting a wall greasy with blood and god knows what. He shivers and wipes his hands on his pants before pinching his nose to block out the stench.]

[It takes him a moment to notice the man bending over one of them, sure that his flailing had probably caught his attention by now.] A-Ah! Hey, you!

IT'S OKAY, I FORGIVE YOU. MOSTLY.

[He is, of course, aware of that second presence as soon as it becomes a second presence. He's straightened again to glance over and wait patiently for the kid -- because it is just a kid, isn't it? -- to get his bearings. He'll nod in greeting once Sora has spotted him and then, because the smell really isn't something to want to hang around for very long, makes a beckoning gesture and starts for the door just behind him.]

GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. ;n;

[undiminishing]

[He understands the motion and complies pretty much immediately, keen to breathe air that wasn't so thick he can taste the decay.]

Hey, what are you doing here? [He quizzes the man while skipping over arms and legs and trying not to trip. It doesn't occur to him that the man was responsible for all the corpses piled up here. These things had obviously been here a while and if the man was, well, he'd already be joining them by now, right?]

Do you know what happened? And where is this place, anyway?

[He ignores the first question in favor of making it outside and closing the door behind them, nods at the second, and shakes his head at the third. Oh, kid, you found exactly the wrong guy to answer your questions.]

[undiminishing]

[It's okay, brah. Tarzan's one of his homies so he is a master of talking to people who can't talk.]

Oh... kay. You don't know where this is... but you do know what happened to those people there?

[Time for a hand-on-chin moment.]

Alright, so can you [points to his spandex-clad greeter] tell me [points to himself] what happened [rolls his hands around because how the fuck do you sign "happened" anyway] ?

[He watches this display with a sort of amused patience. It's not the first time someone has mistaken his muteness for dullness. He holds up a 'wait just one moment' finger and turns, disappearing back through the doors into the bathhouse. There's at least one way to make clear to the newcomer what happened.]

[undiminishing]

[Sora nods, thinking maybe the guy might fetch a pad to write on or do an interpretive dance but instead the man walks straight back from where they came, leaving him to stand rather perplexed. They really needed a projector and a mini-quest to collect slides or something.]

Wha-Hey wait! What gives? [Not really content to let him go without getting a clear answer, Sora follows him in through the doors despite everything in his body rejecting the idea of having to experience that degree of filth and plague all over again.]

[He wants to follow? Well, that at least will mean that Black Bolt doesn't actually have to touch the body he finds nearest to the door. He kneels next to it instead, one pointing finger extending to the poor deceased woman's neck. It's clearly been torn out, and if the observer is any kind of detective, it's apparent the culprit was human teeth.

He looks back up again at Sora once his answer has been pointed out, hoping to see understanding.]

[He has to bring his hand up to his nose again when he enters and for a second, seeing the man he doesn't know how to react. Sora's eyes lower slowly from a confused stare at his face to a pained, half-focused look at the spot he's pointing to. Her nearly black, putrefied skin doesn't help with identifying the bite marks but after forcing himself to concentrate on the wound, the realization hits him hard.]

I... don't get it...

[and after a pause, more forcefully;] Why? What would do that?

[This didn't look like the work of Heartless or Nobodies. The scenes of ruin they left behind weren't nearly as hardcore. So a new enemy, then?]

[Good. Although the answer had only brought more questions, at least it had been understood. He rises again, starts back for the door. One hand falls to Sora's back to offer a tiny go ahead push.]

I can't... stop staring at that icon. unfunf. ♥

[undiminishing]

[He shakes his head when Black Bolt gives him a gentle shove towards the exit.]

Ah right, okay. I'm goin'. [With his companion being so quiet, Sora felt like he had to compensate for both of them.]

[Sora steps through the doors again ahead of him and leans against the wall. What a shitty world to fall into. How did he even get here anyway? He was just with Riku and-

oh crap, Riku.]

Uh, you... [He turns to Black Bolt with an earnest expression on his face before he gets a look on his face like he just remembered where he parked the Gummy Ship.] You know, I don't know your name! Mine's Sora.

Anyway! You haven't seen someone else around here have you? He's tall, has white hair, kinda grumpy? He might have a limp too.

fsjkgs yes, don't you want sexy destructovoice whispers in your ear?

[Sora. Good to know. Not that he plans to use it any time soon, but it's good to know. He comes to a stop just outside the door, keeping an eye on the setting around them. Only one of them has had any experience with the current living corpse problem, after all.

The question gets a moment of thought. He's seen someone with white hair, but he wouldn't have described him as 'grumpy'. And there was no limp involved. He shakes his head solemnly after a few seconds.]

honestly? yes. his pretty already blows my brains out. *n*

[undiminishing]

Oh... Maybe he isn't here then... [That's kind of a relief, although he worries about living his friend alone to emo on the beach of eternal darkness by himself.]

[No time to dwell on that, though! Sora's already making his way out into the park, assuming that he'd be followed because well, no one ever didn't follow him.] So, you don't know where "here" either is, do you? Are you lost?

BUT WHAT IF HE'S HIDEOUS UNDER THAT MASK

[He follows, of course, if only because he could never let someone so young just wander out into a park full of monsters. His pace picks up just enough to draw level with Sora, the better to have his communication seen.

And speaking of, the two questions get a shake of his head and a nod, respectively. He can, however, point out an informational sign as they pass it. The words SPLASH & FUN mark the top of it, which is better than nothing on the 'where' front.]

WITH THOSE CHEEKBONES? HE WOULD ONLY BE HIDEOUSLY ATTRACTIVE. also oh god why so typo /head in hands

Yeah? That makes two of us. [Or at least, that's his reply to the "being lost" bit.]

[Sora glances at the sign. Apparently Black Bolt had volunteered himself as his designated spotter.] "Splash & Fun"?

[a pause.] It's a park? [Oh what the hell. This was either the worst resort idea in the history of ever, or something very, very bad happened. Sora's looking pretty confused either way.]

[Thinking cap time again.] Man, how did I even get here? I thought you only crossed worlds with a Gummi Ship. Or those portals for Heartless. [He frowns. Neither of those were right.] Or maybe... that bottle was magic?

[brb sifting through his pockets. While he's doing that though,] Hey, how did you get here? Did you walk? [(Hopefully not, with that get-up.) He gives him eye contact as he waits for the answer, since apparently the man didn't, or couldn't, talk. Something else he'd have to ask about!]
