Old photos really take you back...back to times you forgot about, back to moments that linger in the back of your mind and just need a pick-me-up to come rushing back.
When I signed into my Verizon online I found a bunch of pictures, old and new.
Some made me laugh, some made me smile, some I couldnt believe I still had. Like the entire album of my ex-boyfriend.
For once though, seeing those pictures didnt make me cry, didnt even really make me sad. I flipped through them smiling, surfing through a year of my life that has forcibly been erased from real time to save both him and myself.
I can still remember the story behind each one: his first dorm room, his first house, the time he tried to grow a handlebar mustache [I think occurring only during one of the mere 2 or so 2-week separations we ever did], and, my favorite, the time he was stuck in Big Bear, all alone and had hit his head on a bar while snowboarding. Its the cutest picture, he looks all roughed up and sad...but not because hes got a bump the size of an apple on his head, but because he missed me.
Looking at those photos made me realize how precious some moments can be, and as much as you tell yourself in that moment that youll remember it forever, you hardly ever do. They really make me want to stop being shy with my camera and start taking pictures of the moments I think are best...
