Primeval season 2 casting

Primeval, the British skiffy series which Russell T Davies accused of being too white, has cast Naomi Bentley (a photo of her on stage), reputedly as one of two new regulars, for its second season. (Bizarre and unrelated Bentley article in the Scotsman.)

Bearing in mind the overwhelmingly white casting of the first series and the roles poc were cast in, I'm expecting the worst for Naomi Bentley's character.

Character predictions:
1. barely included token (so they can claim the character didn't work and never cast a poc again),
2. exotic sexpot (after she's been made-up and lit to look as white as possible),
3. human sacrifice to save Nick the white hero's white love-interest Claudia (probably with the character of colour being "repatriated" in the BNP sense of the word to an alternative Earth in another timeline to show that poc don't belong in realio trulio Britain),
4. a "savage" from The Past/The Future who is rescued/tamed by the white men,
5. three or more of the above.

The first fan reaction I saw online said: "I hope the latter of those two actors [i.e. Bentley] hasn't been signed up merely because of RTD's accusation towards Primeval. That would be a mistake." Because correcting an obvious bias against poc is always a mistake. [/bitter irony]

I'm considering setting up a bobthehaitian style com for Primeval but I doubt if there'd be much interest. Let me know if I'm wrong about that.
