Each episode of Captain Scarlet was much shorter than Thunderbirds so the storytelling was much more restricted to a single straightforward plot and the puppets were more realistic but moved even less convincingly than the Thunderbirds so they stood and sat still a lot more in Captain Scarlet.

I honestly thought the Hood was supposed to be an alien baddie until I was an older kid and someone actually explained him to me. ::facepalm of innocence lost::

Dare I hope that the 1980 skiffy show is *whispers* UFO *whispers*? Because it is truly wonderful and dodgy all at the same time and I own season 1.

I haven't in any way spent the last week giggling over pictures of Nina Barry's wig and Mark Bradley's nipples... much, heh. The problem with UFO is that there's too much good crack to summarise easily. I'll manage though because my urge to infect others with the addiction is strong! ::envies your ownership of season 1::

Oh cool! I've seen reruns of the 2005 CGI series on one of the animation channels, but I didn't know it was based on something older.

I saw trailers for the new animated series but I didn't want to risk spoiling my, erm, special memories of the original, heh. It takes a certain amount of dedication to dodgy skiffy for me to truly love Supermarionation and old skool Doctor Who. ;-)

I haven't seen enough of it to form a firm opinion. My father likes it because it reminds him of Thunderbirds, though, so if nothing else it's probably got the right feel.
