So it seems like we might as well start a booklist thread here. You know, books by and about POC in sci fi and fantasy. And maybe some stuff about race and gender and representation, as well. I'll add this post to the memories so it can be an ongoing reference ( Read more... )

there is also the very excellent So Long Been Dreaming, edited by Nalo Hopkinson and Uppinder Mehan. an anthology by authors of color, specifically trying to highlight post-colonial SF/F

i would even say The President's Daughter by Barbara Chase-Riboud. there's science in the historical fiction. and of course, comics by Milestone Media, continued with Static Shock in DC comics.
