Devin from the Barrymores past away this weekend. '
I first met Devin back in 2000 at the Broadway CC shows we used to run, "we" as in the 3rd Gen crew (Mike, Steveo, Alichia,White Dog, Ana,etc...the old crew). He played in a punk emo ish band called Offset with his friend Ian, they soon went on to form The Barrymores. He was a awesome guy, never getting caught up in Drama or scene bullshit. Always had something good to say or just ask how you are doing? Last time I ran into him, it was at cousins, he just asked how the band is doing,nothing out of the ordinary, didn't think that was going to be the last time I saw him. In recent years, there was a falling out between bands/scenes and we didn't run into each other much. Back when the brats first started we did all our shows with the barrymores and Megan the 2nd singer of the brats used to date Devin. He never made enemys, just a really good guy.
I cannot imagine how all his close friends are dealing with it, as they are tight group of friends. When Lauren and I dated, we hung out with them, just more as outsiders, we we're the weirdos who didn't drink alot or do drugs, just had our own dramas to deal with.
I hope they are making it though this..I really do...when I lost Chris back in 96 my world came crashing to a sudden stop..and I didn't get out of that rut for a good 2 years. I can only imagine how they feel. Jesus, a flood of memorys...
