Busy, busy, busy!

Homecoming week has been upon the Mizzou campus for a few days now. As Mizzou was the first school to ever invite alumni back for a weekend and thus inventing homecoming, it's kind of a big deal around here. On Monday I gave blood for the PAC blood drive in the morning and at night I participated in the breast cancer awareness month 5K run/walk. Tonight we went downtown to Boone Tavern and decked out its front display window with Mizzou homecoming spirit stuff and if I may say so...it looks awesome. Tomorrow is the PAC barbeque in the afternoon in which I have gratefully been relieved from dunking-booth duty (and yes CJ, I said duty). I am now master chef...so I flip the hamburgers and grill the hot dogs, wanna fight about it? Thursday will be interesting as well with the homecoming dodgeball tournament starting at noon...I decided to decline an invitation to join the Defoe team becasue of my previous experiences in athletics with them. I am on a team called the Hitt Street Shockers and our first game is at 12.35 against the Mark Twain Pen-Pushers. We must protect this house! Thursday night plays host to the Talent competition and our rough accapella group will be performing Roy Orbison's ''Pretty Woman" at roughly 9:30. It will be broadcast on MUTV for all those that care to tune in. Friday will be the campus-wide homecoming party. The alumni will be in town and the student s will be out partying. It's a university sponsored event and tables for different orginizations will be set up along the streets. I will be manning the Residence Hall Association booth on the corner of Hitt Street and Rollins. And then it's Saturday. I will be driving the PAC car in the parade which begins at 7.30 in the morning. We are decking out Katie's truck to fot the theme of homecoming (Let the Good Times Roar) and will be behind some Jewish orginization i believe. And after the parade, it's off to tailgating where I seem to have been awarded the title of "Griller" because what am I doing? I am grilling hot dogs and hamburgers again. But I don't mind...it's supposed to be cold and the grill will keep me warm. Then it is time for the game. Mizzou vs. Iowa State. Both teams are evenly matched so it should be a pretty good game. Brad Smith is coming off a game against a pretty good Oklahoma State team last week in which he completed 21 of 27 passes for nearly 200 yards, and ran for about a buck-eighty. So we can hope for some more magic from the second coming of Vince Young. After the game though, it's my favorite time of the week! Laundry Time! Yes, that's right. I will descend into the bottomless pit of Pershing Commons with my dirtied clothing in an attempt to make it clean again. I must remember to invest in more laundry detergent before I partake in that wonderful event. Well, now that you know all that...I guess I can stop. But I will post my schedule for the rest of the week so you will know not to try and contact me.
