What a weekend this has been...
For those of you who don't know your nerd lore, Dragon-Con was this weekend at the Hyatt Regency and Mariott hotels in Atlanta. It's a four day convention of everything from Star Trek and Star Wars to anime and goth/horror. Four days of nerds, games, anime, costumes, and hot, I repeat, HOT goth girls. I never knew just how much I liked the look of vinyl, lace, and oddly colored hair extensions. God, I could go on forever about how much my neck hurts from turning it so much. ::drool::
Anyway, we left Thursday night/Friday morning at 1AM and drove for seven hours straight to get to our hotel for early check-in.
Ten people.
Four cars.
Craziness.
By the time we managed to get checked in and put our stuff in the rooms, I had been up for approx. 26 hours. The dealers room didn't open up until 3 (or so I was told) so I crashed around 2 and slept for about 5 hours. I got up to go to the dealers room thinking they were open until about 8 or 9, only to find out that they were open from 1 to 7. Grrrr...
So we all just ended up back in Cam and Kailen's room hanging out for a while until it got dark. Once the sun went down, everyone around me got drunk as shit so we wandered around the hotels bullshitting and gawking at insanely hot women until about 2 in the morning.
Saturday, I got to go down to the dealer's room and buy a bunch of really cool stuff. Got some Neon Genesis figures, a new Bettie Page Zippo, a Naru statue from Love Hina, and the figure of Chi (Chobits) that I have outlined on my back. Hmm...that reminds me... I need to go get the shading done soon...
Anyway, most of the weekend went a lot like that. We hung out and relaxed most of the time, went out to eat at a local brewery in Atlanta called Max Lager's, which was excellent by the way, and walked around looking at cool costumes and, again, hot goth girls.
Mmmmmm...pink and black hair...
Uh...oh... heh heh
There is a lot more for sure, but I'm to tired to type it. I'll elaborate later once I've had more sleep.
