(no subject)
My room turned out much more comfortable than I could have anticipated. Loving it. In San Marcos wrapping up the lose ends right now. I miss K, but my new roomies are making me feel right at home. So far the mess is contained (actually, not even there yet) and I am making a point to do one thing a day extra to be a cool roomate (yesterday I fixed the toliet, today I hunted the wasp nests around the house). When in doubt, I think WWBD (What would Brad do).
Hung out with girl @ Freddie's Tuesday, then to her place where I laid a mild message across that I hope she picked up on as really meaning "this is your last chance, girlie." Wed. went to Cafe Mundi (biked) with my new roomie Josh for a Turtle Mocha and some live music from Mike the Electrician (who ironicly plays acoustic)
I HAVE A JOB
I train friday night @ Cafe Caprice (The job I wanted) look at the site if you haven't. The menu and wine list are awesome. The owner said to wear whatever, slacks/jeans and polo or button-up are the normal for guys. She said she had to draw the line at a tie-dye shirt. The have monthly wine-tastings for employes and the owner/chef (they are a married couple) is an ex-jazz playing Austinite who is an ARTISE with food. seriously. Pulled duck empanadas? FUCK YEAH!
I am forgeting a hundred thousand awesome new things, because there are just too many. My roomates are already telling me how much I've drawn the house together and that the chemistry is better than it was before. Cooking and cleaning w/4 people is so fast and easy, everyone pitches in. My roomate who works for the kite company is going to have me model for the catalog (I will be paid in kites, which is awesome) and says she will probably have a dozen or more kites to give me through the course of the next six months.
Everyone who has come over is rad, and everyone seems to like me, which is great. I miss my SM freinds, but hope to see them soon. I'm nervous driving in Austin until my tailight comes in and I can get my car inspected.
All right, I have to go run some errands, and then back to Austin, where I will prepare for work tommorrow. Keep me in your thoughts, everyone (AND COME VIST!!!)
