well, some of this on mok's post, but i am underwhelmed by the new xbox live experience. echoing steve's sentiments, it just seems a lil awkward, but ill get used to it.
however marks call for cable banishment seems premature, at least in my household. looking at mok's instant queue, i can see what a boon it would be if i was starving for 70's cop shows and documentaries.
if you pull up scifi, you get a couple of premium classics: the thing, logan's run, road warrior.
the next two rows have scifi selections of a... more mediocre flavor: mission to mars. sphere, waterworld.
and finally, the rest of the dreck: i wont list them because i havent heard of them. some i recognize from strolling blockbuster and thinking 'what the heck is that?' a lot of direct to video stuff, like 'transmorphers!'
every genre is the same, a few top tier films, a middle layer of meh, and a bulk of unknown crap. my queue has about 35 movies, almost all indie, foreign or both. only one of my movies was available.
so, some of my instant picks:
shaft
strange brew
little shop of horrors
flash gordon
ice pirates
zorro the gay blade
meh
update: a few of my regular queue picks suddenly showed up as available on instant watch, so i'll be enjoying primer sometime at home.
