back in Ohio
This week was amazing. Double show in New Brunswick, then Philly. New York for the rest of the week. Kristen and I held a kickball game in McCarren yesterday. Sore joints, should happen again. It was funny because there was the Inferno camp and the New Westchester Scene camp and then a few other people mixed in. They didn't mingle at all!
Leaving New York is always so hard but living there would be toxic. It just has this allure, but I've heard and I can imagine that it starts eating into one's bones after a while. And I would be spending so much money on food!
A lot of really cool travel opportunities are opening up. I've decided that I'm applying to a Spanish immersion program in Valparaiso, Chile this summer (crossing my fingers). I've always wanted to go to Buenos Aires (I opted not to apply to a program there for a lot of reasons, but would go after mine ended), but I didn't really feel like showing up in a foreign city alone. Then I found out that Matwes is going to be there this summer, which means I would probably have a place to crash. MT is spending the summer working in a vegan bakeshop in Maine, and I'm going to take a weekend to go visit her and gulp down some fresh air. Also- Mike Spot moving to Berlin in a year or so? If this happens, can anyone say post-Croatia (another cross of my fingers) Germany party? Having friends flung all over is going to be awesome.
I remembered why I love Max so much this week. We're not in a relationship, but boy is that kid my best friend. I don't remember the last time I saw him smile so much. He's got a very certain, serious yet silly, anachronistic, brilliant, brown and olive kind of charm.
Oh yeah, my zine is being distro'd at Bluestockings and the Wooden Shoe in Philly!
