Okay so my opinion remains the same after 20 months.....
LOLOLOL Oh my god, this post IRONICALLY PARTNERED WITH MY SHERLOCK ICON and goddamn it so many grammar mistakes.
I stumbled across this post back in April of 2009 when news broke out that Guy Ritchie's version of Sherlock Holmes had either 1. been casted, or 2. gone into pre-production/filming (don't remember which). LOL funny how even then, when I didn't even consider myself a SH fan, I wasn't too happy about the announcement.
The only opinion that has changed: Hugh Laurie isn't my ideal Sherlock Holmes anymore. He's my head canon Daddy Holmes (watch Fortysomething and you'll get why). Benedict is my Sherlock now, mwahahaha.
I still want Hugh to play Gordan Freeman though, as unlikely as that might be.
