I hate to say it, considering the show is pretty new to me as well as new in terms of being on air: Season 3 is kinda boring.
Next weeks episode sounds awesome, with the mark being Nate's dad and all..... but still, a favorite episode has yet to show up for me this season.
The quality of these episodes apparently equate to being filler episodes for the ~BIG THING~ they obviously have planned during winter, with Damien Moreau being the super evil antagonist of the season and all. It just seems to me the production crew is trying to save up their money for the big scenes, which is understandable, since I know that Leverage has like, one of the lowest budgets ever on TNT (as their ratings really aren't that good compared to The Closer and Rizzoli and Isles) Yet, with the show having 15 episodes, there really is no excuse to use filler episodes. I mean if the show had 22 to 24 episodes like normal fall season shows, then fine, I won't complain about filler episodes (besides I've gotten used to them since House uses the shittiest filler episodes for 1/3 of the episodes every season since season 3.) I mean come on, 15 episodes!! 9 episodes less than normal, it's really pushing your luck to use filler episodes. Barely anyone is watching the show, it's not like the show is on like season 8 or something, it's on season 3 for pete's sake, gather some quality.
Despite Bill Engvall guest starring in today's episode, I was underwhelmed. The whole plot was meh.
- Eliot is still as hilarious as ever.
- Now WTF is up with all these mary-sue characters all of a sudden, huh? First it's that annoying client girl from "The Double-Blind Job" to the OTHER female client in "The Studio Job", now that girl in the shop from today's episode. Really? REALLY?
- Ever since I started shipping Cal/Gillian, Nate/Sophie seem so...... weak compared to them.
- I was pretty pissed off that Nate didn't get mad or punish Parker for blowing their cover. COME ON. Just because Sophie said "oh don't be so hard on her" Nate can't just cut her loose. Don't get me wrong, I love Parker. But she made a mistake, not to mention a mistake due to personal feelings. Since when did personal feelings get in the way of your job? YOU GUYS ARE PROFESSIONAL CRIMINALS. Dude, Cal has more principle than you guys and he runs a legal consulting firm. He doesn't give a shit if your feelings are hurt, he fucking yells at you when you make an amateur mistake such as letting your feelings cloud your judgment.
- I'm beginning to "watch the show logically." Once I start doing that, it's a bad sign. How many people do they think they can con before they get royally fucked over? I mean they're so careless about everything and apparently staying discreet isn't in their rulebook. Aren't these guys pros? I'm just saying.
- It's season 3. The show hasn't even gone past 50 episodes and a shitload of plot holes are showing up everywhere. You suck, season 3. Seriously, you suck. This is seriously depressing. It's like TPTB don't really care about making an impression to try and capture more people to watch the show.
LOL who would've thunk it, I'm more in love with Lie to Me* than I am with Leverage!! Hard to believe I wasn't even initially interested in Lie to Me*..... I don't even LIKE the characters in LtM, the only ones I do like are Cal, Gillian and Emily. I love every single character in Leverage, and yet the show fails to impress me :(
P.S. Forgive me for sounding so bitchy and whine-y, I'm PMSing :(
