Finally! I managed to get out of work as planned and my sibs and I headed to the movies at good time. There was a bit of a kurfuffle with the tickets (we were denied entry because our ticket was printed for a later show but it was a mistake on the ticketing section so we had it changed to allow us to get in right when the title appeared) but it was all good. Was also armed with a small box of popcorn and drinks coz I was hungry and worried that I won't be able to concentrate during the 2hr45min (just about) movie.
The pics look kinda weird. I think they were accomodating for the 3D version that the screen seemed cramped. Oh well, still good.
Ok, let's see... So far my prediction for the first movie was correct. Bilbo met Gollum, the eagles and the goblins. I was disappointed though that the eagles didn't have a chance to talk, coz that... that would be awesome.
Galadriel did too many posing. Enough elf-woman! We get it. You're supposed to be pretty, flowy and stuff. And the reactions of the dwarves after Thorin's tale of heroic valour feels too showy.
And as predicted, they did glorify the dwarves, though they're still funny. What I didn't expect is the cuteness of the CGI animals. Should've seen that. Gollum too. When he's not in his alter-evil-psycho self.
I just can't recall Pandergast meeting the hobbits though.... I may open the book again to reread that part. Also that pale orc... don't recall him too. I would've thought only the orc king would be the ultimate baddy in terms of orc-folks.
BUT still good :)
Mum bought us soto for dinner. I didn't eat it coz it was already late and I won't be able to sleep with a full stomach :p
Sleepy now. Need to do laundry tomorrow.
