And suddenly, Berlin is so close. In just three days we'll be heading for Berlin, where we'll be for nearly two weeks, arriving on December 24th, heading back home on January 4th.
As I'm working tomorrow, that leaves me only two days to get ready to leave. Past trips have always started off with a very short night, going to bed at 4-ish and in the train again by 6. I managed to take two days off this week, so I had time to clean up and prepare calmly, leaving me enough time to get a good night's sleep the night before. However, although I've done some things in the past week, I'm not nearly where I wanted to be. By now, the house should've been spotlessly clean. It's not, by far. Shouldn't take more than a few hours to get it there though, so I'll be spending tomorrow morning on that before work, and finish things off on monday.
Monday evening will be the time of packing my bags - hopefully before 9 pm. With Christmas coming up, stores here stay open late on tuesday, which means I can go to the store and buy some forgotten things that night. If, and only if, I finish packing before nine. Although, if I don't, we're probably not leaving much before noon the next day, as we're not catching an early train from the Netherlands, but will be taking a night train from Köln on, and as a result we don't need to leave
hecubah's untill midnight-ish. I will however, need at least 8 hours of sleep, as the night train we're taking only accomodates seats, and does not carry any sleeping carriages. I'll survive though, drift away towards dreamland every now and then and catch up on sleep again the next night.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to check in early in the morning, straight upon arrival as our room has been booked the night before as well, which means we can only check in after the other guests have left and the room has been properly cleaned. Not so big a deal though; we just have to put our luggage in a locker at the train station and have to wait a bit longer before we can freshen up. But, as we've all been through the same hell, all three of us will be smelly and bad-breathed, meaning we will not notice that. ;-)
YAY! Only 3 nights left.
