PRAGUE
thats the vltava river and prague castle
the bone church at kutna hora, during the plague they began running out of room to bury the bodies so began exhuming remains and decorating the church with them. at least, thats the explanation i could intuit from the very confusing and cult-esque english translation sheet..
i stumbled across these statues in a back street..
this is a fabulous canadian i found along the way, ms eleni. we trekked to a church covered in human bones in kutna hora and got tragically lost and rained on and hungry (not the country), which resulted in us calling each other names to pass the time/sanity.
the most well preserved architecture in europe. partly because the czechs have usually been occupied by their more powerful neighbours over history.
this is the tv tower built by the communists. when communism fell, the new democratic government decided to "de-communize" the look of it, by covering it in giant metal crawling babies (?) creepy (sorry its so big, lj wont let me edit this, and photobucket is being a jerk.)
bone church!
this sausage shop sign almost persuaded me to eat meat, that guy seems pretty enthusiastic...
drinking 1 dollar amazing czech beer in the hostel bar...
fountain outside the kafka museum, yes they have wangs that sway from side to side, drawing the attention of random american tourists... the kafka museum being as bizarre and tragic as his books..
