Richard Samuel Attenborough died
So sad to hear that Richard Attenborough died from illness on 24 August 2014, five days before his 91st birthday.
He was an actor, director, producer and entrepreneur. For some people he was Baron Attenborough (of Richmond upon Thames) but for the most british people he was simply Dickie.
After he was educated at Wyggeston Grammar School for Boys in Leicester he studied at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts). He started his career in 1942.
Richard Attenborough was the nice uncle in “Jurassic Park”, he was Kris Kringle in “Miracle on 34th Street”, he was so fantastic in “The Great Escape”.
He had two younger brothers: Sir David Attenborough, a naturalist and broadcaster, and John Attenborough, an executive at Alfa Romeo.
We will miss you Dickie. Santa Claus is gone forever.
