Last Saturday was a very sad day for me. England lost against Germany in the World Cup 2010. As much as I`m proud to be German I hate the German soccer team. And how much I love the English team (since more than ten years exactly). I watched England against Slovenia at a Public Viewing. England played strongly and proudly. After they played so bad in the first and second game I really thought they could reach more. But against Germany they played tired and had no ideas. So they lost. I so hope they do better in the European Cup 2012. And I hope Gerard, Lampard (both are very cute) and Terry will stay in the team. I`d miss them a lot. I wish I could have stayed in bed but instead I went to work again. It`s that football is coming home again.
Btw. I really ask myself when Germany gets over Wembley. They won so many titles but don`t allow England this one. Now they say Lampard`s correct goal, which was not given by the referee, was the revenge for the goal in 1966. I think it was very different. In fact it was a computer which found out that Hurt`s goal wasn`t one.
But since then Germanys victorys are always the revenges. They say this time god was with them. This time? Germany is not one of the teams which have bad luck often. In this case I would think of Spain before they won the European Cup in 2008. Or the England team which always lost the penalty kicks.
Some days ago I read an article about corruption in soccer. And maybe the referee of the Saturday game was corrupted yeas ago. Maybe he REALLY was this time. How can it be that he was the ONLY ONE who didn`t see it was a goal?
However it was a shock. I really forgot how much football can hurts.
No, it isn`t easy to like the "Three Lions" team.
