New challenges [Mess Hall] [Open]

De hadn't really ventured to many places on board ship, certainly not by himself, at any rate. His time, of which there was a lot, tended to be spilt between spending time alone in his quarters, spending time with Bill and Len in the common area of their rooms, and, more recently, down in Botany, tending to and preparing his now beloved rose plot.

His trip with Spock, back when she had been a child, cat hunting, had introduced him to the wonders of the Mess Hall. (He vaguely wondered how she was, now she was an adult again. He hadn't known her before, but he had enjoyed her company when she had stayed with them) He'd had food from there on occasion, when Bill or Len had brought some back to their rooms, but had mostly been eating replicated fare. Now that he was eating, regularly and properly, the continued suspicion and general strangeness of replicated food was beginning to get to him. He no longer inspected every replicated thing in minute detail, but the inherent suspicion was still there in his mannerisms when he ate.

Going to the Mess Hall for lunch on his way back from a morning Botany visit was becoming a very tempting prospect, despite the perceived implications. Going there alone was a new challenge, but perhaps a necessary one.

Plus, the Mess Hall had pie.

De managed to find the Hall again with relative ease, managed to make it through the door, managed to collect a plate of food (gammon, eggs and salad) along with a slice of apple pie, and sat down at a table, slightly hidden in a corner of the room. He began to eat, every so often glancing around a little self-consciously, but no one seemed to be staring, or even hardly notice him at all.

[[OOC - Time wise, this can pretty much occur whenever you want it to...It is very flexible :D]]

attempting new and exciting things, making improvements?, pie is usually quite nice
