still NO power at my house. this is
getting ridiculous.. even surrounding areas that had power cables
on the ground saturday and sunday already have power but, we don't.
The power poles in our neighborhood go behind the houses instead of
going by the curb of the street. This means they have to
get out and check the cables by foot from house to house... they
decided they would leave the most time consuming / less cost effective tasks at the
end... assholes. If it weren't for my sidekick and
still having all my commodities at work, I would've hunted down
Progress Energy's board of directors and make them suffer as much as
i'm suffering (maybe more) until the house gets power back
up. You would think that a state that gets such extreme weather
would have tighter codes and restrictions when it comes to the power
infrastructure and trees surrounding it, hazardous on
a mere CAT 2 storm.
so much for the argument of privatizing public utilities for sake of
efficiency.
