I am currently at my parents' apartment in Budapest, where I've been since about 11pm last night. I survived the rest of the journey, despite being pretty zombie-like by the time I got to Frankfurt. I am quite glad I didn't have to direct a taxi or anything like that when I got here.
When I got back to my parents' place, there was much hugging, and I lounged on the sofa and reminisced about comfortable furniture for a while. Then there was sleep, although the sleep was delayed a bit more by bed fail as the slats on the bed kept falling out from underneath the mattress. Silly ikea bed.
Today I slept in a bit, had some food, spent a while trying to fix the bed with some string, then lay down for a rest and some
zidtt snuggles and ended up falling asleep. Apparently my string worked, because the bed didn't break like it kept doing last night.
After we woke up,
zidtt took me down to the Christmas market. There were so many shinies! I could spend the next few weeks just wandering around different Christmas markets and squeeing at things and trying not to buy more than I can fit in my suitcase. Apparently, every city pretty much has its own Christmas market, so this isn't an entirely unrealistic ambition. :D
It also hasn't got really stupidly cold here yet, either. This is good.
Now I'm going to give my mother her birthday present and actually spend some time catching up with my family.
