Almost 3 weeks now, and it's getting serious. Past timid late night conversations lay a world where we can really make this into what we want. It's not about proving anything to eachother or ourselves, it's not about trying to impress anyone and it's not shallow in any sense of the word. These roots are spreading deep and they may be hard to unearth. Fortunately, it's not a hushed and smothered love; rather it's alive, breathing and garrulous. It's cars that go fast wherever we want them to take us, intimacy that is open and warm, and lots of cigarette butts. We seem to be finding what we are seeking.
And it's not just humor. It's not all beer and skittles. It's naps, laying in the grass, gazing into each other's pupils. It's mutual recognition of compromise, and acknowledgements of what we can each work towards for happiness. Only we don't say it like that. We say it with funny faces and fingertips tracing on our skin, even our tongues if they're not choked by sarcasm.
When's the last time I couldn't go a day without speaking at all to someone?
