Stewart vs. Cramer
11:33 PM 3/13/09 · This past Thursday on The Daily Show was unprecedented. If you've been following the news for the past week or so then you know there's been a verbal sparring match going back and forth between John Stewart and CNBC's Jim Cramer. I mostly followed the Stewart side of the whole bit but essentially he told Cramer to fuck off and such...
...and a multitude of news and talk shows have been going on about it for quite a bit.
Finally Thursday, Stewart invited Cramer to appear on hiw show and have it out with him. After a lot of the usual opening stuff Cramer took his seat and they began and what followed was one of the best interviews I've seen in a long time on any network.
I'm not sure if it was Cramer or myself who was more surprised. Clearly he wasn't expecting that. While I watched it I fully intended to make this post but it was what happened the following day that caught me even more off guard. I was watching the evening news on CBS and they did a bit on it.
Apparently a lot of other networks, both basic television and cable, were equally blown away by how things went down. This isn't to say it didn't have funny aspects but other than that, Stewart wasn't taking any prisoners.
There was a cute bit on the end of The Daily Show the day just before this happened.
...and this right here was the first I remembered hearing about all this...
...I don't catch the show everyday, even though I do tape them.
I don't usually watch Jim Cramer's Mad Money but I think I'm going to start.
