i've got it

I've discovered that life starts to feel like a dream if you play Nick Drake all the time. Or Acoustic, the mixtape Tim made me, which has 23 perfect, dreamy songs. The sun and warm weather doesn't hurt things, either.

I'm going to start shooting asap. Shooting what?, you ask. An exercise in cinematography, nothing too unique or creative or fancy. But I'm going to need all of you. It'll be a compilation of choreographed "art" shots, of people interacting, human movement, talking, singing, living etc.-capturing my friends and the people I know in various ways. I plan on converting it all to black and white during editing, and sound track it to the aforementioed dreamy music. I'm hoping that it won't become "typical artsy bullshit" and that I will instead capture my friends and the world around me as I see them (and maybe a little romanticized).

I wonder if it's a bad idea to bring my camera to the city next weekend? It'll be in a camera bag of course. I'd like to get some shots of Brooklyn and Ana (and Ana in Brooklyn). We're going down to the Whitney to visit Momus (who emailed us!!!), and then heading over to Brooklyn to go thrift shopping. If anyone wants to join us, let me know, because Saaturday just seems like a good day for a big group of us to walk all over the city until our ankles crack.

I've been thinking about how much more my life should be than what it is. I just asked Nick if I was in danger of becoming an annoying hipster with a very large independently designed furniture collection. He said no, thankfully (and maybe the duty of a good friend is to say No when asked that question).

I'm not really brave enough to be a revolutionary. At least the kind that involves guerilla warfare. :)

Than what can I do? Hmm. Something for me to think about.
