Here comes my list of 15 books. No priority given, I guess. :)

1. "Hopscotch" - Julio Cortázar
2. "Harry Potter"(s) - J. K. Rowling.
3. "Catch 22" - Joseph Heller
4. "Taming of the Shrew" -  Shakespeare
5. "Kad su cvetale tikve" - Dragoslav Mihajlović (could be translated as 'When Pumpkins Bloomed', but I'm sure there's a better title.)
6. "A Spot Of ( Read more... )

We are all still suckers for kiddie books :)

Interesting list, even by the various nationalities of the authors. ;) I have read only 2, 3, 7, 8 and 11. I haven't even heard of this play by Shakespeare. (but I've seen the movie on his believed to be worst play Titus! It's a great movie... if you like horror;)). The movie "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" is in my computer for weeks already but I still havent seen it. :P

You must say if some of these books JUST HAS TO BE read by everyone ;) If I judge only by the titles, I would try the pumpkins (it's translated in bg), The Book Thief and Hello Sadness :P

Hey! The Shrew is one of his early plays. I dunno, I like it. It's also his only play where I could remember the monologues. :) Haven't read/seen Titus. It's going on my Summer list then :)
The movie Fear and Loathing is pretty good, but I still like the book better. But Depp did a wonderful job!
Pumpkins is a pretty heavy book I guess, but written in a colloquial colocvial way, so it still has a very nice flow.
The Book Theif was written for what they call "young adult" and the main character is a ten-year-old girl - I read it when I was a young adult and it was pretty good, imo. Rather heavy too.
Hello Sadness I haven't finished reading yet (I cheat!), but it looks good so far, and I have a feeling it's going to get really dark. Let you know how it turns out. :)
Finally, what everyone should read is "Hopscotch". Magnigicent book. If you like jazz, that is :) But even if not the jazz context can be put aside. Oh, and I was named after a character in the book ;) But I'm being biased now...
Phew, sorry for the long post :)

So your name is Maga? Talita? Pola? Horacia? :D

Or I can know after I read it;) And I do intend to read it - both you and google say so good things about it, the bulgarian edition describes it as having "unexampled originality". Maybe right after my exams! :P

Ugh, and is this what you call a long post? :D I'm happy of long, no need to be sorry ;)
