Full disclosure: I hate it when people are asked to describe their usual working day and they reply with a vague cliche: "Oh, it is hard to say, all my days are so different". They are not fire fighters and not working in emergency room. Every day in the office is so different from another? I highly doubt it.
So, my strategy is to make a usual working day as enjoyable as possible, not waiting for some unexpected thrilling quests. What do I do to keep my brains happy and energetic:
☕ Fresh coffee after the important task.
I like to do the most important task in the morning (preparing a presentation, calling a business partner). After that I reward myself with fresh cup of coffee. Nowadays I use a lot of decaf, so my brains won't explode.
🏖 Short walk outside.
Fresh air feels great, especially after a couple of hours of online meetings.
📞 Calling a partner without a specific reason.
Most of the time we have an agenda for discussions and online meetings - new marketing plans, future sales activities, forecasts etc. So sometimes I like to call a colleague or a partner just to chat.
