If someone ever tells you that military orders should come NLT 30 days prior, slap them in the face and then laugh.
Aside from being responsible for an extra month's rent that I will not be using, I now have this unnerving feeling that things are going to go horribly wrong. Could it be? Can i really get screwed over two times by the military...consecutively? I wouldn't have such a sneaking suspicion except for the fact that the other LT from my unit that I am supposed to depart with...he not only has his orders for BOLC II, but for BOLC III as well. meanwhile.. I have a "reserved" slot for BOLC II but no orders, and have been put on a waiting list for BOLC III. (Which I was assured that this is the new policy and I won't roll over into a reserved slot until 15 days prior) Oddly enough, this new policy didn't affect my other friend even though I was put into the reservation system before he was....
something is very...very....fishy.
Meanwhile I am frozen knowing I need to pack up my apartment and move it to a storage unit (or in this case my mom's house)but dreading what will happen if I pack everything up only to be told that I am really not going anywhere for a while...
and so what if this actually happens and I am stranded here again? First of all, I will probably punch some holes in these cheap fibers they call walls. No, I'm sure I won't, but I will sure feel like it. Then, I will have to seriously reconsider my future with 1-265 and ADA in general. since I have not gone to BOLC III I am not branch qualified yet. If I found another unit that actually needs officers and is something I am interested in, I may switch there. I like the people where I am at, but I can't stand that the BTN apparently can't get it's act together for a soldier that was very loyal and enthusiastic.
In this scenario.. i also have to try to think of some good that may come of this...
all I can really think of right now is that I can survive for now doing military funerals (maybe eat once in a while)and I will get to enjoy UCF baseball.... yup. that's about it.
