many thoughts....

It's been awhile since I've updated. This summer I'll be working at Cassidy Theater as a sound tech and I'm possiblely applying for a job at Sears. Getting my license within the month but not sure when. I went to Swings-N-things yesterday and played paintball. I think I've found a new hobby. I also played ddr again and impressed a few people with my shit freestyle and Can't stop fallin in love (speed mix) on heavy. I think I'm going to get back into ddr as well. It's been an interesting month but also I have a bit of a rant so if you want to read it's behind the cut. I really hope takes a look it's a bout the current state of society.
P.S. Heza and I are great! 10 months today YIPPIE!
OK so I was at the mall recently with my mom getting a shirt for my choir concert and she had to go into Saturday Mattinee. My mom heads to the workout video section as I help her look, an African American woman in the front of the store yelling at the clerk for watching her in the store. She screams about racial profiling and how he didn't follow my mom into the back of the store. Which pissed me off immensely, making me want to get into the argument. Now I feel racial profiling does exist but, not many would think. It's considered racial profiling to believe that an African American person, no matter of character or knowledge of the person, is capable and will commit a crime. This is a mind set of most people because, statistically, most shoplifting crimes are committed by 1). middle class white kids seeking a thrill or 2). African American people. I see nothing wrong with what the store clerk was doing because I know that if i had walked into the store by myself with my spiked hair, sword necklace and my relative attire I wear, he most likely would have followed me because I'm 16 and I'm dressed somewhat like someone who would commit a crime. It's a snap judgment you don't know what kind of person someone is by there race or clothing. Would I have been bothered a bit? Sure. I've got no past record and I don't commit crimes but I understand that he's making sure I don't steal from the store. And another thing that bothers me is this whole attitude like I deserve special treatment because (insert period of time here) my people were ( insert event of oppression or something that induces pity here). That sickens me because of what my or someone elses ancestors did is not the current generations fault. Why do we have to pay for them? I can use this excuse in my context to show how ridiculous this is. OMG I'm a below middle class Irish white teenager! Pity me because the Irish were persecuted and given bitch jobs and lower than normal wages. I deserve special treatment don't I???? Does anyone else see a problem with this system? This society is becoming the biggest load of Bureaucratic bullshit that has ever been seen. Everyone is treated fairly. Human judgment is flawed but you can't scream RACIAL PROFILING or some other bullshit when something doesn't go your way. Ugh this society is going to hell and we all have a first class ticket ladies and gentlemen. It's up to us to get off before it's too late.
