Here's a funny story:
I aide for my former teacher from H British Literature from sophomore year, and it's progress report time--which means an insane amount of work for me to do. I have to print out grade reports for each of the kids, and they highlight errors; I fix them, then I return it to them. I'm supposed to stamp them--but I get too lazy to get up and get the goddamn stamp--so I just initial the report after writing the new grade.
Today, after fixing the errors, I wrote the new grade (89.9%--which Mrs Freed does not round to an A-) and placed my initials. The funny thing is that my initials are HA, so it seemed like I was laughing at the kid for having a B++++++++++++++++++. A mental picture of an angry student, cursing my name for my audacious mockery of his poor luck, floated into my mind.
Chuckling to myself, I inserted two bold periods after each letter, and went on my way. Perhaps the sophomore wouldn't realise that those were my initials, and the mental picture would become a reality.
On another note, it's a great feeling to see your friends after they are accepted into top-notch colleges. Javier got into Harvard, and I'm happy for him, even though he is an orc that always makes fun of my hobbity ways. =D
It's also a bit sad to see them rejected. I'm a bit eager to see the results for my class next year--and of course, for myself.
I'm also very, very scared.
